ABOUT
2009 Craft&Design Selected Award Winner (Textiles)
I design and weave scarves and throws, playing with colours and textures inspired by my Yorkshire Dales home and travels abroad, placing a lot of emphasis on creating fabrics which suit their purpose and designs which are striking and stand out in a crowd.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
I learned to weave nearly 15 years ago in America. In 2005 I graduated with Distinction from the Handwoven Textile Design HNC at Bradford College. I have completed several private commissions ranging from scarves and throws to individually designed lengths of fabric. I teach weaving for beginners, both adults and children.
I also produce The Howgill Range -- a growing range of woven products made from bluefaced leicester wool grown in the Yorkshire Dales. Using spinners, weavers and finishers within the Yorkshire, Cumbria and Scottish Borders region, the Howgill Range helps support the local economy, sustain a centuries old woollen tradition, contribute to landscape protection and celebrate the high quality of British wool.
